Musk’s visit to India delayed

Tesla CEO Musk said on Saturday that his visit to India is being delayed due to the company’s heavy obligations. Sitharaman said, “When big companies show interest in coming to India, we will do everything to make it attractive for them to come here and invest.” In that process, if there is anything to discuss, we will definitely discuss. Whatever we have done, we have done through policy.

Inflation controlled, economy strong

He said that the policies have been designed to make India an attractive destination for manufacturing and services. Speaking about inflation, the Finance Minister said that except for one month under the Modi government, it never crossed the tolerable limit. He further added that before 2014 the economy was in a bad shape and inflation was in double digits. Sitharaman said, “At that time (before 2014), no one had any expectations from the country. After a lot of hard work, we have emerged as the fifth largest economy in the world and are confidently saying that in the next two to two and a half years we will be at the third position.” On employment, he said that there is growth in both formal and informal sectors. There is a lack of data, but the initiative of the Center has provided employment to lakhs of people.
