Ayodhya to Delhi IndiGo flight: Sachchi DCP Satish Kumar

Ayodhya to Delhi IndiGo flight: Indigo flight going from Ayodhya to Delhi could not land at Delhi airport due to bad weather. The flight was landed in Chandigarh.

Delhi Police official claimed that on Saturday, an IndiGo flight coming from Ayodhya to Delhi was diverted towards Chandigarh due to bad weather and when the plane landed there, there was only one or two minutes of fuel left. On the other hand, the airline said on Monday that there was enough fuel in the plane. Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Crime Satish Kumar, in a post on ‘X’, said that he had a tragic experience while traveling by IndiGo flight 6E-2702 from Ayodhya to Delhi.

The plane could not land in Delhi

He said the scheduled take off time of the flight was 3:25 pm and landing time was 4:30 pm, but at around 4:15 pm the pilot said there was bad weather at the Delhi airport and the plane was stuck for 45 minutes. It is fuel to fly. He wrote, “The pilot attempted to land the aircraft twice, but could not do so due to bad weather and thereafter a lot of time was wasted in deciding further strategy.”

‘There was only 1-2 minutes of fuel left’

He further wrote that at 5:30 pm the pilot announced that he would try to land in Chandigarh and finally the plane landed at Chandigarh airport at 6:10 pm. Kumar said in the post on Sunday evening that when the plane landed in Chandigarh, 115 minutes had passed since it was declared that there was fuel to fly for 45 minutes. Kumar also said that after landing he learned from the crew that only 1-2 minutes of fuel was left.

What did the airline say?

Tagging aviation regulator DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Delhi Airport and IndiGo, he said in the post that it should be investigated whether all the standard procedures were followed? IndiGo said in a statement on Monday that the flight was diverted to Chandigarh due to bad weather in Delhi and the pilot conducted a detour which is in line with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The airline said it was a completely safe procedure and as per the rules, there was enough fuel to take the plane to an alternate airport.
