Bain Capital sold Axis Bank for ₹3,574 crore

Private equity investor Bain Capital on Tuesday sold 1.08 per cent stake in Axis Bank for Rs 3,574 crore through an open market transaction. Mirai Asset Mutual Fund (MF), ICICI Prudential MF, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, Norges Bank, Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore PTE, Societe Generale, Blackstone, BofA Securities Europe SA bought shares of Axis Bank in these deals. On Tuesday, Axis Bank shares closed with gains.

Price per share Rs 1,071

Bain Capital, through its associates BC Asia Investments-7 Ltd and Integral Investments South Asia-4, sold over 3.33 crore shares or 1.08 per cent stake in Axis Bank on the Bombay Stock Exchange. These shares were sold at an average price of Rs 1,071, taking the total value of the deal to Rs 3,574.46 crore.

Axis Bank shares closed at Rs 1,080.75 on Tuesday with a rise of 0.52 per cent or Rs 5.55 on BSE. It touched a high of Rs 1094 and a low of Rs 1071.35 during trading. 52 week high of this share is Rs 1151.50. Whereas, 52 week low is Rs 844.05. The market cap of the company closed at Rs 3,33,581.09 crore on BSE on Tuesday.
